Seeing a security warning? It’s safe.

Because this is a brand-new app, Windows SmartScreen or your antivirus (for example AVG or Avast) may flag the installer as an “unrecognized” or “insecure” file. This is a reputation warning that fades as more people install it — the files are safe to download and install.

Is the Windows app safe?

Yes. The installer is Authenticode-signed by Microsoft. Antivirus and SmartScreen warnings on new, low-download apps are false positives based on reputation, not on anything harmful in the file. The warnings disappear over time as the app is downloaded more.
