Beta

Intel

For older Macs with Intel processors (most Macs sold before late 2020).

  • Beta channel — same features, less battle-tested on Intel hardware
  • Audio engine (stem separation, audio-to-MIDI) is slower than on Apple Silicon
  • Auto-update is not enabled yet — we’ll email you when a new Intel build is ready
  • Signed & notarised by Apple

Not sure which one you need?

  1. Click the Apple menu in the top-left corner of your screen.
  2. Choose About This Mac.
  3. Look for the Chip line. If it starts with Apple M(M1, M2, M3, M4…), pick the Apple Silicon build. If it says Intel, pick the Intel beta.

Why is Intel a beta?

Most VIXSOUND customers run Apple Silicon, so it gets the most testing. The Intel build is the same code, but the audio engine uses CPU paths we lean on less often. Anything you flag at support@vixsound.com we will fix fast.
